Bauer Dominates in First Double-A Start

Trevor Bauer, the third player taken in the 2011 draft, was promoted to Double-A Mobile on Friday and made his first start for the Mobile BayBears on Sunday. Bauer, who signed a four-year, major league contract that could max out at $7 million, allowed no runs in five innings and has been rumored as a possible September callup for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Trevor Bauer was drafted with the third overall pick in this year's draft by Arizona out of UCLA. He was the 2011 Golden Spikes Winner, presented to the top amateur baseball player in the country by USA Baseball. He also set a Pac-10 record and led the nation with 203 strikeouts this season.
