2009 Outlook
After an unbelievable month of April (.926 OPS, 5 HR, 15 RBI), Upton was just so-so for the remainder of 2008 (.772, 10, 27), although he did show some resurgence in September upon his return from the DL. Which Upton shows up in 2009 will go a long way towards determining the D-backs' fate.
2008 Outlook
Upton understandably struggled during a rookie season in which he turned 20 years of age and was thrust into his second new position in two years. A playoff-tested Upton who is more comfortable in right field should improve in 2008. He'd better, as the Diamondbacks traded primary insurance policies Carlos Gonzalez and Aaron Cunningham in the Dan Haren deal.
