2009
Summers got called up to South Bend on May 19th to take Ryan Cook's spot in the rotation. He had a 17.18 ERA in a brirf two-game stint with South Bend before joining the Yakima Bears' opening day roster.
The knuckleballer went 5-7 with a 5.29 ERA at Yakima last year. He had an ill-fated start at the Triple-A level as well.
2008
Summers begins his fourth year in the D-backs organization at a short-season affiliate, but his second as a pitcher. He had played catcher, second, third, and the outfield before becoming a full-time knuckleball pitcher. He got one start at Triple-A, but was hit quite hard. |
