Zavada went 1-0 with a 2.51 ERA in 9 relief appearances with the BayBears before joining the Arizona Diamondbacks on May 12th. In 14.1 innings, he had allowed 8 hits with 4 runs and 17 strikeouts.
Clay Zavada would have become a free agent after the 2008 season had the D-backs not added him to the 40-man roster. He was solid this spring in big league camp, earning himself the right to skip Hi-A Visalia and begin 2009 in Mobile.
In 2008, Zavada allowed a ridiculous six hits 1n 35.1 innings with the Silver Hawks. He had a 0.51 ERA, 54 strikeouts, and 5 walks allowed. |
