Whitesell batted .399 after the Triple-A All-Star Break to propel himself to both PCL Rookie of the Year and Organizational Player of the Year honors. He is the best all-around hitter in the Diamondbacks organization despite his propensity to strike out.
The D-backs recalled first baseman Josh Whitesell from Triple-A Reno May 6th after they placed first baseman Tony Clark on the 15-day disabled list with a strained ligament in his right hand.
Whitesell was hitting .356 for Reno in 87 at-bats prior to the callup. |
