The dependable Collmenter moves up to Hi-A after successful stints in Yakima and South Bend the past two seasons.

2008

Selected in the 15th round of the 2007 draft, Josh Collmenter had the highest listed weight of any of the Diamondbacks' first 30 picks (235). He topped the Northwest League with a 2.71 ERA, earning him FutureBacks.com Pitcher of the Year honors at Yakima. He did not allow more than three earned runs in any of his 12 starts, and allowed fewer than three in 10 of those.

He appears to have slimmed down in 2008, and has been one of the Silver Hawks' most dependable starters in the early going.
