Tony Clark went on the 15-day disabled list with a strained ligament in his right hand on May 6th. He was hitting just .179 with 15 strikeouts in 28 at-bats prior to the DL trip, though he had hit two homers.
2008
Big Tony Clark returned to the Diamondbacks
after the All-Star break to provide veteran leadership to a team that is scuffling. The club then brought him back for the 2009 season on January 2nd.
2007
Clark hit .249 with 17 home runs and 52 RBI in 221 at-bats for Arizona in 2007.
Clark is a career .265 hitter who was the Detroit Tigers' first-round selection (second overall) in the 1990 First-Year Player Draft. The Padres were his fifth team.
