| D'Antona was left unprotected in this year's Rule 5 Draft, yet no team bit on him. He used that affroterry to have a fabulous 2008 campaign in which he flirted with a .400 batting average for the first ten weeks of the season, played in the Futures Game, and won the Triple-A home run derby. He was hitting .367 with 16 home runs at Tucson before hetting claaed up to the majors on July 22. |
