Gerardo Parra was promoted to Mobile on May 31st after hitting .300 at Hi-A Visalia, but slugging just .411. He had been batting .250 with only one extra base hit and one RBI over his last 10 games there. Many people expected Parra to begin the 2008 season at Double-A, so it's a surprise that his merely solid performance in the Cal League warranted this promotion. |
