| Biography: |
Top prospect Max Scherzer remains with the big league squad after Doug Davis returned to action. The team instead chose to designate Brandeon Medders, who was out of minor league options, for assignment.
Through four starts in Tucson, Scherzer fanned a ridiculous 38 batters in 23 innings, allowing just 16 batters to reach base, which led to a 1.17 ERA. All three of Scherzer's earned runs came in his most recent start.
Scherzer did not agree to terms with the Diamondbacks until May of last season, meaning that he has ascended all the way to the major leagues in less that a year of professional service time. |
