Harbin put up impressive numbers at Missoula before reaching South Bend in September, including 27 extra base hits in 243 at bats. Director of Player Development A.J. Hinch cited the drafting of Harbin as one of the reasons that the organization was willing to part with fellow 2B Danny Richar last summer.

Harbin got off to a slow start in the Midwest League, both at the end of 2007 and at the beginning of 2008. Silver Hawks manager Mark Haley still thinks the way he handles himself stands out at this low level.
