Biography:
Billy Buckner came to the Diamondbacks in a December trade for infielder Alberto Callaspo.

Buckner began the 2007 season at Double-A Wichita, but soon he was pitching in Omaha, where he spent the majority of his season. He did well in his first exposure to Triple-A, going 9-7 with a 3.78 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 104.2 innings, and he was promoted to Kansas City in August, where he wound up making five starts and picking up his first major league victory.
