Biography:

The Diamondbacks liked what they saw in Augenstien and stole him in the 7th round of last year's draft. The club limited his innings in 2007, but Augenstein has the tools to succeed as a starter in Low-A ball this upcoming season. He was the largest of the Diamondbacks' early pitcher selections, but he does not have the corresponding velocity to back up his size, having swithced from a four-seam fastball to a slower two-seamer that he can command.
