| Chris Snyder made the jump directly from Double-A to the bigs back in 2004, but despite several chances he has never been able to claim the everyday catcher's job, always facing competition from a new source, whether it be Koyie Hill, Johnny Estrada, or Javier Brito. 2007 starts no differently, as Snyder will battle rookie Miguel Montero for the job. Expect a season starting platoon between the left handed hitting Montero and the right handed hitting Snyder, though playing time will likely be easy to come by, as Snyder is a far superior defensive catcher at this point than Montero. |
