Blum batted .254 (70-for-276) with 17 doubles, one triple, four home runs, 34 RBI and 27 runs scored in 109 games for the Padres in 2006.

Blum appeared at all four infield positions for the seventh consecutive season and also made one appearance in right field. He started 60 games in 2006, including 42 starts at shortstop, 17 starts at third base and one start at second base.
