| Biography: |
| This big strong righty out of Tulane could have been drafted as a power hitting first baseman or a fire balling right hander. The Diamondbacks chose the latter and have been rewarded with one of the best pitching prospects in the system. After a long college season the Diamondbacks kept Owings in the bullpen last year, and all he did was carry a 2.45 ERA in 16 games, striking out 30 in 22 innings.
He went 6-2 with a 2.91 ERA in Tennessee the first three months, striking out 69 in 74.1 innings, which was good enough to get a promotion to Triple-A Tucson in just his second pro season, and first full year. The aggressive promotion of Micah also bodes well for him getting a chance with the big league club this season.
