| Biography: |
| The 10th round pick out of the University of Alabama-Huntsville is repeating this season at Double-A Tennessee after a dismal 5-10 record last season, but the news wasn't nearly that bad for the big right hander. His 3.99 ERA showed that he had much better stuff than his record would suggest, and the Diamondbacks love his durability. A key this season for Bass will be pitching deep into games, he's got the frame of a guy who can go seven every time out, but last season averaged just under six innings per start.
His promotion to Tucson comes on the heels of a roller coaster start to the season in Tennessee. He was all or nothing (five earned or more in 1/3 of his starts, 2 ER or less in 1/3 of his starts) and often the W/L totals didn't accurately reflect which side of the fence he was on that day. |
