| Biography: |
| The top catching prospect in the organization, Montero destroyed the California League during the first 2/3 of last season, and though he struggled after a July promotion to Double-A Tennessee, the combination of nagging injuries and inconsistent playing time were mostly to blame. Don't expect the playing time to be an issue this year, as Montero will be allowed to go virtually everyday, and reunited with his '05 California League manager Bill Plummer, a former catcher and defensive guru, Montero's focus will be making his strong arm as lethal defensively as his strong bat is offensively. |
