Biography:
Bruney appeared to be a saving grace for the Diamondbacks, literally, but fell apart late in the season and never really challenged for a big league spot this spring. As a closer he was solid early but a string of bad outings bounced him from the role and then a series of bad outings in the seventh and eighth bounced him from the roster all together. Reports have had Bruney working on a new pitch, possibly a split fingered fastball, and it could be the key to his success, but expect a full season in Triple-A this year for Bruney.
