Biography:
A steal in the 15th round out of West Virginia Nippert is impressive to look at because of his 6'7"/215lb frame, and even more impressive to watch with a upper 80s to low 90s fastball and a huge power curve which one scout referred to as 'unhittable.' He missed a lot of time in 2003 after having a benign tumor removed from under his armpit, but came back to dominate the Arizona Fall League in 2003. He was added to the Diamondbacks 40 man roster during the offseason between '04 and '05 and looks to have a real shot as sticking with the team. If he perfects the change up he's been working on he could turn into a very viable front of the rotation starter.
