Playing the Lo-A Midwest League is something most players don’t want to do for long. A ‘stepping stone’ league, and it’s the first full season test for many players coming from short season teams like Missoula and Yakima. If you are a hitter, you can’t wait to get to the hitter friendly Hi-A California League, and if you’re a pitcher, you’re hoping to go the Matt Chico route and skip Lancaster altogether and go straight to Tennessee. If you prove yourself here, your reward is a plane ticket.
