Adam Eaton went 8-for-16 at the plate (.500), with a double, a triple, two home runs, four runs batted in, seven runs scored, and a stolen base for the week. He also collected a .600 on-base percentage and slugged 1.063 for the week, maintaining his nearly season-long hold on the league’s on-base percentage lead, and lifting him to the top of the Pioneer League in slugging percentage.
Last week’s outburst also lifted Eaton’s batting average from .369 to .386, which lifted him into the Pioneer League lead in hitting. Eaton has been a constant in the Top 10 for most
of the season.
The 19th round pick of the Arizona Diamondbacks out of the University of Miami (Ohio) hasn’t stopped there, either. Since the new week began, Eaton picked up where he left off, going 7-for-9 at the plate, with five runs scored, two walks, and two stolen bases. That outburst has lifted his batting average to .412, the highest his average has been since July 19, and gives him a .600 batting average for the first four games of the second half of the season.
His SLG has risen to .618 for the season, while his OBP is up to an absurd .562.
