Paul Goldschmidt went 11-for-22 at the plate for the Osprey, who took two of three games from Helena at home before picking up a series sweep at Great Falls. Six of the 11 hits went for extra bases, including the two-run home run that gave the Osprey the lead for good in the top of the eighth inning of Saturday's 14-9 win at Great Falls. He also had five doubles for the week - two of them coming in the Saturday game, when he also drove in four of his eight runs for the week. Goldschmidt slugged at a .864 clip
during the six-game stretch.
For the season, Goldschmidt is batting .322 with 10 home runs and 41 RBI. He's tied for third in the league in home runs, is second in the league in RBI (two behind teammate Bobby Stone), doubles, and extra-base hits,
plus is fourth in the league in both hits (55) and slugging percentage (.626).
His contributions have helped Missoula to the second-best record in the Pioneer League, just one game back of the Ogden Raptors, and the best overall mark in the North Division, where they carried a 1 ½ game lead in the second half into this week's seven-game homestand, which began
with a 2-0 defeat courtesy of the Orem Owlz.
