If the Arizona Diamondbacks front office considers the 2008 season a disappointment, they aren't blaming the field staff for any failures. All six of field manager Bob Melvin's coaches will return in the 2009 season.

PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have retained their entire coaching staff for the 2009 season under Manager Bob Melvin as announced by D-backs' Executive Vice President and General Manager Josh Byrnes.

Kirk Gibson (bench coach), Chip Hale (third base/infield coach) and Lee Tinsley (first base/outfield coach) will enter their third season in their current roles, Bryan Price will begin his fourth season as the D-backs' pitching coach, Rick Schu will begin his second full season in his second stint as the club's hitting coach and Glenn Sherlock (bullpen/catching coach) will enter his 12th season on Arizona's coaching staff.
