As anticipated, the Arizona Diamondbacks finally sent Micah Owings to the Cincinnati Reds to complete the August 11th trade for outfielder Adam Dunn.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have sent right-handed pitcher Micah Owings to the Cincinnati Reds to complete the Aug. 11 trade for outfielder Adam Dunn, as announced by Executive Vice President & General Manager Josh Byrnes. The D-backs acquired Dunn for minor league right-handed pitcher Dallas Buck and two players to be named, who were later identified as utility player Wilkin Castillo (on Aug. 14) and Owings.

Owings pitched in 22 games for the D-backs this season (starting 18), going 6-9 with a 5.93 ERA (69 ER in 104.2 IP) with 41 walks and 87 strikeouts. At the plate, he hit .288 (15-for-52) with seven runs scored, two doubles, a home run and three RBI. Owings saw action in two games for Tucson (AAA), not receiving a decision while posting a 4.09 ERA (5 ER in 11.0 IP) with six walks and nine strikeouts.

Owings was in uniform for the Reds Friday night, wearing number 56.
