Emilio Bonifacio, a Dominican native, has hit .307 with 15 steals for
Triple-A Tucson this season. Last year in Mobile, Bonifacio led the
Diamondbacks' farm system with 41stolen bases, and earned a September callup as
one of the fill-ins for the injured Orlando Hudson. We ranked Bonifacio as
the11th best prospect in
the organization this April.
Gerardo Parra is a native of Venezuela. He batted .301 with 11 stolen
bases in Visalia, earning him a promotion to Double-A in early June. In
less than a month at his new level, Parra has hit .293 with 3 steals. He
led the Midwest League with a .320 batting average last year, and ranked as the
4th-best Diamondbacks prospect in our April rankings.
