All-Star MVP Deik Scram

The Eastern All-Stars trounced the Western All-Stars 8-2 in Geneva Illinois. Thirteen different Eastern All-Stars collected hits while the Western squad employed the services of fifteen different pitchers. We have the details in the form of photography.

Juan Francisco (Dayton) takes infield before the game. He woulud collect a hit and an RBI as cleanup batter for the East.



Ryan Strieby (West Michigan) takes infield before the game. Strieby singled and scored in the 9th.



Joe Kantakevich (Wisconsin) participates in the skills contest before the game



Brett Anderson (South Bend) mans the slingshot



Matt Liuzza (Lansing) during infield practice. Liuzza would collect two hits as a reserve.



Sean Watson (Dayton) loosens up before his start. Watson would allow 2 hits and a run while fanning two batters.



MVP Deik Scram (West Michigan) leads off the game with a single and a stolen base. He is held on by Brandon Buckman (Quad Cities), who would become the only West player to collect two hits.



Clayton Kershaw (Great Lakes) allows the only homer in the contest, but nevertheless picks up the victory



Matt Sweeney (Cedar Rapids) rounds the bases after crushing said homer off of Kershaw



Travis Snider (Lansing) takes one of many pitches on the night. He would walk three times and strike out looking once.



Justin Turner (Dayton) mans second base with Travis Snider in right. Turner would hit the only double for the East in the 3rd.



John Whittleman (Clinton) readies himself. He reached base twice for the West, scoring the second of their two runs.



Joey Side (South Bend) prepares to steal one of his two bases on the night, this time off Brandon Dickson (Quad Cities) in the 4th inning. Side collected two hits total and scored after his second steal.



Chris Cody (West Michigan) pitches a perfect 4th inning for the East



Zach Phillips (Clinton) becomes the second Western pitcher to throw a full scoreless inning.



6'7" Brett Jensen (West Michigan) whips across a warmup pitch in the 5th inning. He would retire the West in order.



Sean Shoffit (Lansing) drives in a run, steals second, and scores in the East's 2-run 6th inning.
