“We enjoyed getting to see Mark
here in Tucson during his rehabbing time. As many of you fellow parents out
there have experienced (or will) when you support your son’s quest for his
dream, tons of memories created during the past 18 years have resurfaced.
“From the time Mark was 4 years
old in tee-ball, when he hit into a triple play in his first at-bat and came off
the field smiling, we could see how much he enjoyed playing the game. Through
Little League tournaments, high school playoff games, showcase events all over
the country, travel team tournaments as far as Australia, Team USA trials, the
College World Series, summers during college spent in Japan, Taiwan, and the
Dominican Republic with the National Team, the draft, and finally his first
professional season, we were there as much as we could be in order to celebrate
his successes as well as those necessary “bumps” in the road.
With this, we logged many miles,
saw most of the country (and many hotels), and shared many great family moments
together. After all, that’s what it’s really all about- family. This weekend,
we saw a lot of Tucson, went up to the D-backs game, saw some of Phoenix on
Sunday, enjoyed the nice weather, and of course, ate way too much. We hope
everyone enjoyed the holiday weekend as much as we did.”
Remember, I’ll be back next
Monday with an update from Rehab. Have a good week.
