Coming out of Oklahoma State Rusty Ryal was looked at as a baseball player without a position. No one could deny the slick fielding third baseman played the game hard, played it the right way, and showed leadership and heart. What they could deny was that a Major League third baseman needed to show power, and after hitting just seven home runs his senior season, and that usually won't cut it at the corners.
