FutureBacks Q&A: Billy Murphy

Billy Murphy's star seemed to dim a little bit at the beginning of the 2005 season, but then again, not playing will do that. Once Murphy got healthy he had a productive season. As he heads to the Arizona Fall League FutureBacks talked to Murphy about pitching coaches, a cut fastball, the ability to throw strikes, and why Koyie Hill might be the best catcher in the system...for him.

FutureBacks:  When we last talked to you, you were just coming back from the hamstring injury.  First of all, any flare ups of the injury? Bill Murphy:  No, not one.  I had an up and down season, but I never had a problem with the hamstring, it felt great.  The doctors were really surprised at how quick I healed, they figured I'd be out at least two weeks longer than I was.
