Tigers Act Fast, Sign Torii Hunter

Per numerous reports, the Tigers have signed free agent outfielder Torii Hunter to a two-year, $26 million deal. Hunter visited with the Tigers on Tuesday.

Once he hit the free agent market, Torii Hunter made it known that he planned on making a fast decision. After visiting the Tigers on Tuesday, he was ready.

Without visiting or seriously talking with any other team, Hunter agreed to terms with the Tigers on a two-year deal, worth $26 million.

Hunter is a career .277 hitter with a career .801 OPS across a 16-year career with the Twins and Angels. He hit .313 last year with 16 home runs and an .817 OPS for the Angels.

Per Danny Knobler of CBSSports.com, Hunter is expected to play right field for the Tigers while batting second, behind center fielder Austin Jackson and in front of star third baseman Miguel Cabrera.
