The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following transactions on Thursday:
Krauss saw the most action out of the position players who were reassigned.
He had four hits in 18 at-bats, including a triple and three RBI. Owings'
performance was the most impressive, as he collected four singles and a home run
in 11 at-bats for a .455 batting average. Wheeler had a .308 batting
average but seven strikeouts in 13 at-bats.
Among the pitchers removed from big league camp, DeMark was easily the most
impressive. He allowed no walks and just one hit in three innings of work,
striking out four. Lane, attempting to convert from a position player into
a pitcher at age , did not allow an earned run in his two innings of work, but
blew a save opportunity, allowed an unearned run to score, and surrendered four
hits total.
The D-backs now have 45 players in major league camp, including 11 non-roster players.
